Located deep in the gorges beyond Ushguli in Svaneti there is an abandoned village. The plaque on one of the houses identified the village as "Tsana." If you can make the drive through the gorge beyond Ushguli, then it is very imoportant you keep your eyes out for this unbelievable destination.

Road to Tsana, Georgia through Enguri Gorge
Tsana, Abandoned Village, Georgia

Tsana has been mistaken for the alpine camp Zeskho, so if you and your tour guide are heading towards Zeskho you will pass Tsana (on your right) The road through the gorge is incredibly difficult to travel, even with a very good 4 x 4, but if you make it to Tsana, the road gets a little easier. Tsana will be the first major human presence you will see once you pass Ushguli. It is about one hour further past Tsana for the turnoff to Zeskho.

Throughout the village many of the houses are damaged enough that you can peek right into the rooms, and even enter some of them. If you can survive the road, Tsana is unmissable!
