Mutso is a small, abandoned village that was a historical stronghold of the historic province of Khevsureti.

Mutso is comprised of appoximately 30 medieval fortifications located on a vertical slope. Mutso is located a few kilometres on from the Georgia-Chechen border, and is quite challenging to access.

Mutso is located on a rocky, vertical 1800 metre mountain on the right bank of the Andakistskali river. The hike up the side of the mountain to the actual village is quite a challenging hike and not for the faint of heart. You have been warned: at some points you will be walking along a perilous skinny trail with a thousand metre drop straight down inches away.
